Antiquing!

I've become a bit addicted to antiquing worth my mom!

Went antiquing again today! :) I haven't catalogued every single trip antiquing, having gone a few times in between the top and bottom photos in this post. But I digress, here iw what I got today:

Oh, and here's my new copper pot with a plant in it - looks good, huh?!

Got a few new bits and bobs today ... 9/25/16 ... I'm going to have to stop going into Antique stores! :)

Things From Childhood

It's clear, I've always been an artist, am I right?!?!?!

It's funny, my parents have begun going through things in the house ... much reminiscing occurs during this process! It is happening "now", mostly because my grandmother - who recently passed away - had SO MUCH STUFF in her house that it's kind of overwhelming to go through. So, the 'rents have decided to get some of the sorting in their house done now. This way they can see it again and have joy in it, and pass it on to the kid who made it -- or all of us if it's the sharing of a photo or something -- so that we too can have joy in these things now too! :)

August's Craft

Halloween's not to far away ... here's an EASY craft to do with kids, or adults! :)

What you need: 

Wooden spoons in a variety of shapes

Paint in the desired colors - you may want fine tip sharpies or paint pens to do some of the detailing

Paint brushes

And then whatever bits and bobs you want to attach after you've painted your guys, and hot glue to do the attaching

And water, of course

Paint the base coat. If need be, touch up once they've dried. Detail their faces. Add bits and bobs. Spray with a finishing spray if desired.

And feel free to try these for other holidays ... I can see a snowman, a reindeer, a santa, a grinch...for Christmas. 

To Buy a House, Or Not To Buy A House...

There is a house I want to buy.
How do I make that happen?
It's SO cute. 
It has a modern - recently updated - kitchen that includes a fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher.
Has a washer and dryer.
Has a gorgeous enclosed front porch.
Has a beautiful, and sizable, back deck.
Has 3 (not very big, but there are 3 of them) bedrooms.
Has a dining room.
Has a living room.
Has an "office" space.

And though, for me, it's expensive (I mean, I do only have the one income and all that...), but it's NOT a very expensive house.

I want it so bad.

Emotions People Feel But Can't Explain

Have you ever stopped to think about all the people you pass on any given day, people that you do not know, but in passing them you KNOW they exist ... somewhere ... they live each day whether or not you ever see them again ... they totally exist!

Apparently there is a name for that feeling: "sonder" and it means: the realization that each passerby has a life as vivid and complex as your own.

August's Recipe: Frozen Yogurt

I forgot to take a picture of the finished product, so here's the recipe I used. I made (frozen) Strawberry Vanilla (yogurt). 

It was SUPER easy, and very tasty ... even the ladies in my book club said so!

Ahhhh, the taste of High School, post lunch, ice cream. The Strawberry Crunch. So good. 

Some tastes. Some smells. Some things just bring back a time in ones own history so clearly, and this is one of those things for me.
