September's Recipe: Korean Pork Tacos & Slaw
This was actually a "Blue Apron" recipe, my folks are trying it (all the ingredients for 3 meals, and their recipes, shipped to your door) and I got to cook one of them -- and taste all three recipes they got in their first box.
The ginger in the pork is incredible, and the slaw ... OH. MY. GOSH! I think I may have found a new love, sesame oil!

Depression Glass
I have a love for Depression Glass. It's similar to my love for Pyrex (Anchor Hocking) kitchen bowls and such, from the 1950s. Love to the point of, almost, can't go in an antique center without buying a piece (especially if it is on a good sale).
My depression glass love has most definitely been passed down from my mother, who has collected pink depression glass since I was a kid. I began buying her pieces every now and again, for her Birthday, Mother's Day or Christmas ... and then one day, I began collecting it too.
Most of what I have now is pink, like mother like daughter you know! And here's a picture to prove it:
Then, Labor Day Weekend - on our way to a family BBQ, Mom and I stopped at our "Pyrex Guy's" Antique store where I bought the lovely yellow creamer in the top picture above. Finding that, and already owning a pink one, quickly turned into a desire to have a little creamer in all four colors of depression glass...and I didn't wait long to fulfill that desire. Today, Mom and I went to Eagle Bridge Antique Center (out past Hoosic). It's a HUGE antique barn that we'd stumbled on one afternoon on our way back from New Skete, today we went to really take it all in. They have SO much amazing stuff!!! And, I completed my collection today, with the purchase of the blue and the green pitchers!
In addition to my pink glass collection, and the pitchers, I have a few other pieces in green and blue.
The green pieces I got when Mom and I went antiquing a few weekends ago, and we stopped at one of our local favorites -- what used the be The Blue Churn. Ray, one of the owners, gave us 7 pieces for $10.00 (two of which were slightly chipped, but I took them anyway, and am going to try to smooth the chip out).
Though I do like to display a lot of it, I do USE it all too!!! :)

Broadway.
It's been a while since I last saw a show on the Great White Way...but managed to get into the city today, with a friend, to see a preview performance of "Holiday Inn!"
