You get what you pay for ... ?

So, I'm not exactly a happy camper at the moment. A short while ago I purchased a pair of "skinny" (stretch) corduroy pants by Kenneth Cole Reaction. Now, Kenneth Cole, although not TOP top of the line is a "higher end" brand name than say, JCPenny (not that I have anything wrong with JCPenny Clothing lines, I purchase from them often actually) ... but when purchasing a piece of clothing with a "designer" label on it, one expects it to be good quality.

Point of fact, I have a red winter coat from Kenneth Cole Reaction that has lasted a number of years now ... it appears, however, that their quality control/standards have gone down hill.

So, what's this rant of mine about?

These pants I purchased a short while ago ripped the VERY FIRST TIME I PUT THEM ON! They tore at the base of two of the "back-side" belt loops when I was pulling them up. Angry about it, yes, sew it up I would do at some point ... contemplate writing them a letter, yup.

Having worn the pants, I washed them and "put them aside to sew up."

In a bit of a bind for clean pants this A.M., I decided to repair the loop holes later and wear them.

So, a few hours into my work day I had to use the ladies room ... when pulling up the pants, yes you read that correctly, by merely pulling the pants up the RIPPED yet again. A small rip near the corners of one of the back pockets, and a HUGE ripe - going completely against the "grain" of the cords - on the second back (right butt cheek) pocket.

Now I'm pissed...and have to spend the rest of my day at work with a huge hole, essentially on my arse..

NOT COOL KENNETH COLE REACTION, not cool.

Clothing costs are ridiculous these days, for the amount of material you're purchasing and the time it took to make them ... almost everything is a rip off (no pun intended but more of a happy coincidence), but we (society) pay the prices because they universally suck...and now, even "designer" labels production values suck just as much.

I will now be writing a letter to them, for sure ... with photos ... demanding my money back! (Hopefully I can find the receipt...)

***I'm really very tired of purchasing clothes and having them "die" shortly after their purchase ...
