July -- A Craft A Day

Happy July Ya'll! This month I will be crafting every day ... woot woot!

July 1st - Friendship Bracelets for my nieces!
(Also, it was the first time I'd ever used the bracelet "loom" for the one on the right.)

July 2nd -- puffy paint window decals with my nieces and me Mum
(They do need some time to dry...)
This is what they look like on me'window!

July 3 --> Felt and Fabric Owl Magnet
(no sewing needed)

July 4th -- Felt Mushroom Ornaments

July 5 - Felt Roses

July 6 -- Working with Chalkboard Paint ...
(Initial test run, with paper stencils, didn't work out -- duh M, wet paint and paper ... totally sticks. So I turned it into a "cow" pattern ... and now we wait until it's dry.)

July 7 -- Corner Bookmark

July 8 -- 52 Inspirational Quotes Deck o'Cards
(*this took quite a while to make ... all 52 quotes are there, still need to fill in some cute pics/images throughout ... and I might make versions of these for gifts this year.)

July 9 -- Lollypop Flowers and Superheroes!

July 10 -- Fancy Paperclips!

July 11-- Button Art

July 12 -- A mustache mask ... or hair bow ... or ... or ... or ... ???

July 13 -- Decorated Clothespins (for chip bags etc..)
***Please note the reason there is only ONE here, is because I have been in NYC all day long (literally, up at 4:30am, on a 5:55am train, out of the city on an 8:55pm train and arriving home around 11:30 or later ... so, I did it, on the train, but I did it ... and I'll make more later.)
*I've made a few more...

July 14 -- art ... long day at work again ...

July 15 - Hand and Fingerprint Tree
(with some other stamps too)

July 16 - Penguin drawn in March turned into some felt and button art

July 17 - Felt flower on a bobby pin
(kinda sloppy...but whatev's...)

July 18 - Sharpie Designed Mugs by Moi ... 2 of them will be Xmas Pressies for my nieces!
(it's ok, they don't see this blog)
*The instructions say to let the mugs sit for 72 hours before baking them to make the sharpie permanent ... so they're sitting.

July 19 -- Pumpkins
(One for me and one for my Mummy - though she doesn't know it yet.)

July 20 -- Sock Snowman (filled with rice)
(Soooooo making some of these as Xmas pressies this year.)

July 21 - Tree of Hearts

July 22 - MINION!!!! :)
(There were enough beads to make a second little guy that I can give away as a gift.)

July 23 - Mod podged pic on wood!
The project calls for the mod podge to dry overnight before moving on to the next step ...
Soooooooooo...my first mod podge craft was a #fail ... I don't think I used the correct type of photo paper and or the correct formula of mod podge. I was supposed to be able to take wet rag and some water and wipe away the baking on the photo paper ... it didn't wipe away. I'll have to figure out exactly what went wrong and re-try that craft again (it's supposed to give it a bit of an antique feel ...

I didn't let the wood or the mod podge go to waste however, as you can see below, I mod podged a pic on wood in a different fashion. :o)

July 24 - Crayon on Canvas
(I think the band of crayon I purchased - 'cause it was a 24 pack for .84 cents - is inferior to say, Crayola Crayons ... it was a very watery "drip" ... and now, where will I hang this bit of art that I have created ... LOL. Seems like it would be a fun art craft to do with kids though. Could line up colors how ever they wanted, see if using the blowdryer at different angles had the crayon dripping in different directions, etc...)

July 25 - DIY Air Freshener
(Takes about 5 minutes (or less). Here's what you need, 1 mason jar, jar lid without the seal, a bit of cheese cloth, baking soda, and an essential oil of your scent preference. If you want to jazz the jar up a bit, you'll also need some crafty bits ... Pour about 1/2 an inch of baking soda in the bottom of the jar. Pour a bit of the oil on top of the baking soda. Place cheese cloth on top of the jar and screw the lid - without the seal - over the cheese cloth. Decorate outer edge of the lid to you hearts content. And display.)

July 26 -- ok some days are just too full ... but it didn't stop me from doing a little something artsy!

July 27 -- Toilet paper tube butterfly
(with some pipe cleaner, a small clothespin and 2 small flowers)

July 28 - Photo collage (step one)
Step two...

July 29 - Tiny "Snow" Globe

July 30 -- Mini-Jenga with a twist ...

A Makeup Craft ... personalized cards (I made them on Shutterfly)
