Christmas Morning Crafting

My mother and I have become craft mongers ... we're always looking for a fun new craft to do, and with one of my "monthly challenges" being to create one new craft a month, we find them and do them!

But I digress, it's Christmas Morning and Dad had to work, so Mom and I crafted while we waited for him to return -- so we could open our presents!

Styrofoam ball snow people!

How cute?

We put one person on everyone's plate at dinner.

Christmas Eve Tradition

A few years back, when Mom and I took G'ma to dialysis on Christmas Eve, we decided to get our nails done while we waited for her. It's become a tradition ... it's at least 3 years old now, though I think this might have actually been the fourth year. :)

December's Recipe: Peppermint Patties

As of 1/4/17, I received a LOT of compliments on these guys!

What a fun, easy and NO BAKE, candy to make for the holiday's!

Found the treat, and it's recipe, on Pinterest, and gave it a go today. The only thing I wish was a little different, that the red and green were a little darker. I used the gel dye that they suggested this time around, next time I will try with regular food dye to see if I can make them darker.

Here's the recipe and directions that I found on Pinterest and used: (http://www.momontimeout.com/2013/12/easy-christmas-peppermint-patties/)

November's Recipe: Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Butternut Squash & Cranberries

Found this recipe on Pintrest and decided to give it a go for Thanksgiving dinner - SO GOOD!!! It's very easy to make.

HOW TO MAKE IT
Cut Brussel sprouts in half and coat with oil.
Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake (at 350) for 40 minutes or so.
After about 20 minutes add the squash to the baking sheet (cut and seed the squash, also peel the rind; cube it and place it in a bowl; add oil and maple syrup - about 1 tbsp of each - and mix; place on baking sheet - bake for 20+ minutes, or until soft)
When finished - place veg in a bowl with a cup of dried cranberries and stir.

EAT.
and
ENJOY!

Puppetry

I've seen the ALUMINUM SHOW twice now, once in Edinburgh and once at Proctors. They used this guy in both shows (and yes, I was permitted to take this photo, they actually say you can at the beginning of their show). He is a giant "aluminum pillow" man puppet. And he's awesome!

I really wish I was working on a show that had large puppetry involved ... one day, right?!
